655 Ethics and Professional Issues

(3 credit hours) An overview of the history and current practice of clinical psychology with emphasis on professional issues.  Students will be exposed to the composition and operation of professional organization, the relevant codes and standards of ethics for practice (e.g. APA), and the related research and theoretical literature. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of sound strategies for resolving ethical dilemmas. Considerable attention is given to cultural and gender issues in ethical decisions.
